Red quinoa, green salad with raspberry vinaigrette and the sauce is from a box, with modifications.

I boosted the flavor of it with some rehydrated, pureed sun-dried tomatoes and fried portabella mushroom.
Red Quinoa is one of the highest sources of plant proteins, not that any plant doesn’t have some protein. Cauliflower gets 40% of its calories from protein apparently, according to Steve Pavlina’s The Great Protein Myth,
The idea was that most plant foods only contained some of the essential amino acids, so you’d have to combine “incomplete” foods like beans and rice to form meals that contained complete proteins. This idea was put forth in the 1971 book Diet for a Small Planet by Frances Moore Lappé. It was a million-copy bestseller. Unfortunately, many people still aren’t aware that this theory was later found to be completely false, as Lappé herself recanted her original theory in later works that were far less popular.

Thank you for the comment/compliment on my blog. I finally found the Micro setting on my camera…by mistake really.
Red Quinoa! I love the color! I have used it twice. I think it tastes a tad different that regular quinoa…maybe a hint of sweetness or something…I really can’t put my finger on it.
How was your weekend?
