German Dumplings?

This looked too odd to pass up on.


And even odder when it was out of box. So I soak crumbs wrapped in plastic in cold water, then I boil them.

It should prove to be diverting if nothing else.


They look sort of like acorns but with dough extruding out the pinpricks in the plastic. Perhaps they are usually served with sauce?
