Cheese-Herb Naan and Uduk Cous Cous

Using what cheese there was about, a bit of brie, a bit of havarti, a bit of cheddar grilled with rosemary and thyme. Beside that lot, corn and some cous cous cooked with uduk (Indonesian?) spice mix that had coconut milk, candlenut, lemon grass, galangale, ginger and unspecified spices.

Vegetarian Eggs Benedict

For something different whole wheat English muffins topped with a poached egg, brie, Hollandaise sauce and broiled. Besides that, bit of brown lentils and cous cous, potato perogies fried in onion and mashed sweet potato.

Grilled Cheese sandwich

Grilled cheese sandwich cooked slowly enough to be stringy perfection.

Cauliflower Soup

Homemade dill-cauliflower soup, mashed sweet potatoes, broccoli and black bean patties.

Dumplings and Other Experiments

Remember those German balls? They were salty and odd and really can’t be harmed. Looking at them askance in the pantry is doing nothing for either of us. So, no salt to pot, half a jar of rosemary, a couple tablespoons (or so) of pesto into a pot and we’ll see what we got.

Don’t Knock Gnocchi

Potato gnocchi is a reliable stand-by. It cooks so fast. With a little tomato sauce, parmesan and green beans, we’re refueled and good to go.
