Thai-ed Up

Posted on Saturday 27 January 2007

Protein craving: 4 or 5 strips of bacon, some canned tuna, lettuce, pepper, cucumber on a bun.Beside it a thai soup made with A Taste of Thai, Tom Ka Soup mix, vegetable broth, coconut powder and chopped parsnip cooked in.

Michele sent me over, Pearl. Hi!

It does look like you’re getting some protein there, Pearl. Always a good thing for a vegetarian to keep track of. I guess with the bacon and tuna in there you’re not a strict vegetarian. My bad.

While that soup looks good, Pearl, I think I like the omelette sandwich in the post below a little more. If it wasn’t that I’ve already made a double batch of muffins this morning, I’d charge into the kitchen and make me one of those.

Is the soup mix any good? I never buy that stuff, but I always have trouble fiddling around to make my own thai soups.

I actually thought you were a vegetarian too. I’m not and probably never will be, but it says something that people who care about food eat less meat. Every so often I have a craving for a whole chicken. Yet somehow bacon is not for me and I never really cared for red meat. I tried a hamburger when I was 5 and spat it right back onto my plate.

Pearl: As soup mixes go, it’s not bad. It’s a oil/curry cream.

The assumption makes sense from what you’ve seen. I was never someone who loved eating animals. I hear the whole chicken craving.

In the context of eating meat once every month of two or so, I effectively am.

There are better places for rigidity than eating food on a table.
