ChikaLicious is a dessert bar that I’d only read (rave reviews) about. At 203 East 10th St, NYC, it serves an amuse bouche, a choice of dessert and then petit fours. Wine or tea may accompany the meal. The menu changes daily.
One main dish was an exploration of pineapple, braised, as a sorbet, and as a mousse. Also not pictured here is the amuse bouche of 2 melonballer sized scoops of lemongrass gelee and lemon sorbet.

After this appetizer came a chocolate tarte that would easily go in my top 3 chocolate desserts ever. (A chocolate torte from Black Cat Cafe is also on that list.) The berry coulis and sorbet set it off without any of it overpowering the others.
The petit fours were teeny almond biscotti, marshmallow squares in toasted coconut and chocolate cream puffs. About an hour well-spent and lineups at some days, some times.

Looks divine! YUM!!
You mentioned a chocolate torte from the Black Cat Cafe. Is that the Black Cat in upstate NY?
P: No, sorry, it’s in Ottawa, Canada.
The sweet sounds good, looks fancy… and if it’s in NYC, bet it’s co$tly…
Hear hear for the Black Cat Cafe. I have no doubt it is a fine and honourable place.
P: ChikaLicious was quite reasonable, only about $12 per person before drinks. The Black Cat Cafe is a $60 a person before drinks, but pretty meat-heavy.
