Sweet Strips

Posted on Monday 2 April 2007

Cous cous is the bed for the veggies — an hour ahead the zucchini, onion, acorn squash popped in a pot and baked at 300 degrees to get themselves ready to sit beside the so soya.

The So soya strips were soaked to rehydrate and then fried to brown in a pan with olive oil.

1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup tomato sauce,
a few shakes of soy sauce,
liberal shakes of worcester sauce
1/8 cup of candied citrus peel

Mixed and boiled in the microwave
Poured to coat the strips in the pan.

It ended up tasting reminiscent of sweet and sour pork ribs.
