Kale and Things

Kale microwaved and then water-fried (i.e. stir fried without oil), red cabbage and banana pepper stir fried and something called a SunPatty which is raw food bean patty.

Buffet

A spread feast put on by Amanda (Clockwise from 11 o’clock): Strawberries and black grapes, chocolate truffles, pistachio, sprouted buckwheat trail mix, carrot soup, figs, mixed nuts, carrots soup with flatbread and dates.

Memories Restaurant

In Ottawa Memories Restaurant just might be our favorite. Everything the restaurant cooks is delightful. Here (background to foreground) a chickpea curry with basmati, mango curry and then gazpacho soup and spinach broccoli quiche.

Polenta

Polenta with basil and garlic topped with salsa and banana pepper. Broccoli and chinese green onion pastry. mm, sesame.

Stir Fry

Provolone cheese sliced in a thin whole wheat bread is crisp and nice counterpoint to the stir fry. The veggies were bean sprouts, bok choy, broccoli, a hot banana pepper, a red sweet pepper, and snow peas in a french spice in olive oil quick fry.

Quickie sandwich

Some hot cheese kuwaiti bread, from the Middle Eastern store, topped with tomato and a mixture of alfalfa, lentil and fenugreek spouts and arame sea weed.
It’s the start of Ramadan.

Rices

I forgot to post this photo from the Chinese food fair. There was this orange, sticky rice that was very oily. I didn’t find it palatable so I added brown sugar, chinese 5 spice mix and raisins and ate it with the wild rice. That was an improvement but still I think it looks better […]
