Apple Cake

Apple cake with good vanilla ice cream.

Basic cake:
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 butter
wee bit almond milk (or cow’s)
Mix dry and chop in butter until crumbly. Add just enough almond milk to make a soft dough. Put in a buttered/floured 8×13 cake pan

Walnut Pesto

Pesto with walnuts and frozen cubes of basil mashed with parmesan.

Mixed with a little oil and old cheddar.

And stuffed in baked naan. On the side mashed red potato with dill and boiled carrots in an orange juice and brown sugar sauce.

Lentil Soup

I forgot to photograph the step by step but basically it’s improv anyway with half a cup red lentil, half a cup of brown boiled for an hour in herbed water, carrots and celery and half a tomato. The sweet potato was baked and the broccoli was steamed. (I don’t know what the tree had […]

Naan Again

Cous cous cooked with trail mix thrown into the pot and smothered with onion-y tomato sauce. The whole wheat naan was grilled with cheddar and there’s more cabbage use but it’s not the same because now it has anise, 5-spice chinese mix and citrus.

Garlic Cheese Bread

The Mayflower had garlic cheese bread. Utterly edible. Which is part of what one would ask for in food, and not always what I decide upon receiving something from a waitress. I may have been hungry. Or else lettuce was exceptionally delicious.

Soup’s On

The leek and 4 roasted potatoes and container of button mushrooms were cooked in water and olive oil to partly fry, partly steam. The results were pureed with a little herb bouillon, a little water, a little almond milk.

Some stuffed pasta, cheese and in the spoon? Us.

Perfection

This one is mushroom sauce stripe beside the silken tofu and avocado topping. The next one down is the stir fry veggies.
The waitresses are all […]
