Soup and Crackers

An asparagus-pea soup, veggies in a vol-au-vent, pita crackers, and tea biscuits in the wings for dessert.
Asparagus soup: cook asparagus and peas minimally (more than blanched but still bright green). Puree with a little herbed boullion, yogurt and almond milk until liquid to your liking.

A Dozen Tea Biscuits

A go of lemon-cranberry whole wheat tea biscuits spun from a Five Roses recipe
2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 Tbs brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup plain balkan yogurt
squeezes of lemon juice
what dried cranberries that were left (1/4 cup?)

Brunch at the Scone Witch

A sconewich of goat cheese and tomato on a herb and onion scone. (It’s one more month before they move in the neighbourhood. They move to their new location in November.)

Pizza Out

4 mushroom with a truffle oil and no tomato sauce. And uncut. Which the waiter at Grand declared fun. I was dubious. The 3 men at the next table lowered brows and gave a curt command: cut it. The pizzas were taken away and brought back for them sliced.

Broccoli Soup and Hors D'’Oeuvres

Served with a dollop of yogurt and a Paris Toast.

Broccoli soup underway…sweet potato, broccoli, yogurt and cardamum. Red onion cooked in thyme, butter, bay leaf and ginger. Pureed with almond milk and water to thin.

cucumber and cream cheese on Paris toasts.

Alfalfa on cheese-dill bread works too.
