Hibernation Cycles

I had a student once advise me that every day you should get up, shower, put on your best clothes and face whether you had anywhere to go or not. It’s about self-respect and about leaning into the day, prepared for good. You feel better.

But double-polar-fleece pyjamas. And fleece bathrobe. And kitten. Even she who likes to slalom for the door from any point in the house should the front door open, braked and put back her ears on the threshold feeling that cold air.

After 3 weeks of no grocery stores we did a deep-pantry reboot and had it delivered. The only thing to go out for now is paint.

Or poetry. But I am surrounded by books as is, more than usual with the displacement of shelves and furniture. But there’s an In/Words showcase in 3 days. But that’s 3 whole days away.

Quote: “One can sometimes do good by being the right person in the wrong place.” ~ Father Brown or “The houses, with their long, low, stooping roofs, seemed to come down to drink at the river, like huge grey and red cattle.”~ narrator in The Innocence of Father Brown by GK Chesterton
