Glad Game, Past, Present and Future

Let’s see, no post, or light post, no or light? I’ve had a lot of long posts lately. Long weekend coming up will mean that some people will be offline and others will finally have time to get online.

I’m leaning towards, light post, even decided on it evidently since you’re reading this.

A Glad Game, add your own addition edition?

I’ll start.

Glad to shift in my chair and feel my vertebrae roll into alignment. Ahh. Glad to get laundry squared away (some hang ups are good when it’s cotton-poly blend). Glad to get meals freezer-ready, glad to remember to run the computer backup and to send a BD wish, glad to be more or less off chocolate for more than a week, glad Hub got to get a few days of cycling in, glad that the cat is not crawling all over me, my computer and desk today. (I have no idea why I get this cat break, but I’ll appreciate it.)

For simple past things, I’m glad that although I knocked the sock off the counter this morning it did not dunk into the toilet. Glad for mundane reliefs, such as that atrocious buzzing noise from the dishwasher being some plastic lid in wrong, easily fixed. I’m glad this year we didn’t have those huge hulks of sidewalk corridors of blackening snow banks. I’m glad that my mom’s last doctor’s appointment came off without a hitch. I’m glad that my body has now memorized when I lived so that even half asleep I open the right door of the cupboard for glasses, instead of thwacking my hand on the plate shelf, and finally, and reach in the dark for the right part of wall for the light switch.

Future goodnesses promise nothing, but are suggestive. There’s at least a dozen events in the writers festival that I have to checked off to check out. (But will I burn out? Pacing is always a problem at conferences and festivals.) I’m glad because it looks like our condo may have a renter (knock wood, fingers crossed) and is still on the market for sale as an income property besides. And, a while ago, a business consultant we were fond of was transferred away, and I never clicked with his replacement. Now the replacement is moving to a different province which solves the problem of do I switch agents? Would that be rude?

What else? I’m glad to have some extra Hub-time with an extra day off and can look forward to the forseeable future relatively well with the odds being such that there will be no migraine or cough that erupts nor grievous injury. Today’s looking good too with some room to see what develops.

You?

Light Link: Easter’s coming, or so I’m told. Open Letter to Rabbits, Written by MargeFowlster (Hen)

Comic Link: Spring Tableau from PartiallyClips

Soundtrack: Norah Jones’ Sinkin’ Soon (love that trumpet mute)

Architecture Link: 2008 Olympic stadium competition entries (Is it just me, or do all stadiums look vulvic?)

Quote: “Men will confess to treason, murder, arson, false teeth, or a wig. How many of them will own up to a lack of humor?” — Frank Moore Colby

Lovely, uplifting entry.

And I love Sinkin’ Soon, too!! I love the whole album.

P: Wow.

I’m glad it’s not that nice outside, so I can stay inside and not feel guilty. I’m glad it’s a very long weekend, so I can stay home for four days. I’m glad I have a home and everything I really need is inside it – including the internet, which lets me connect with people in short little bursts whenever I feel like it but still be fundamentally alone. And, given all that, I’m glad I enjoy my own company.

P: Sounds great for getting some paintings underway.

I’m glad someone called me yesterday about an old typewriter for the Floyd Writer’s room. It has a local history!

Pearl, I’ve been talking about you today on looseleaf. It’s all good.

P: Floyd is fantastic.

It certainly is. Thanks Colleen.

What a nice post. I am also glad to read this since it makes me glad. Does it make sense? lol! Anyway advance happy easter!

P: You too Chas and congrats on the engagement.

Me? Well, glad to have a lovely family and share the Easter Bunny Eggs Hunt in the Norwegian forest with them:-)

Wishing you A Happy Holiday too!

P: Sounds festive.

Aren’t you glad of all the gradations in sex?

P: Absolutely. :)
